Captain Ranty-Lawful Rebel: Action Stations!!

Captain Ranty-Lawful Rebel: Action Stations!!

Article copied in full here :-

If, like me, you think the EU is a festering corpse into which we repeatedly inject massive amounts of money for almost no return (apart from industrial amounts of stupidity), then I need to ask a favour.

Please write a letter/email to your MP/MSP/Assembly Member. Their details can be found here.

The template for your letter/email, can be found here.

It looks like this:
I note with great interest that the members of the Backbench Business Committee have scheduled a debate on the question of a motion surrounding a referendum on our EU membership for October 27th.

As a constituent, I am writing to you to ask how you intend to vote following this debate, and to put forward my argument as to why a referendum must be given.

I could write about how I, and millions upon millions like me, have never had the opportunity to express an opinion on our membership, either by dint of not being born or not being at the age of majority at the time of the last referendum, and how the Prime Minister’s statement that we have already had a say is akin to basing a policy on the internet after inspecting one of Babbage’s difference engines.

I could point out the fact that the EU has failed to have its accounts signed off for almost two decades now, how whilst the nation states of Europe are reduced to penury, the EU votes itself ever larget budgets, about how the pattern of abuse of the expenses system by some MEP’s is well documented, how their fiscal projects have put a number of nations into bankruptcy, crippled with debt repayments unprecedented in history, that this has been done against their own laws and has almost dragged us down with them.

I could state that their behaviour and duplicity when the Constitution/Lisbon treaty was being steamrollered through is anti-democratic at best and the actions of a Stalinist Soviet at worst.
I could draw attention to the practices of adhering to the regulations as set out by the EU makes life very difficult for businesses, especially small businesses – the life blood of our economy, and in many cases financially impossible.

I could highlight the costs of our membership, both in terms of taxation taken from the public and the expense of complying with ever more intrusive and complex edicts and directives from the EU.

Whilst I believe all these points are important, I think the matter comes down to a basic and vital question; Are we sovereign?

Ever closer union has only one logical outcome – a complete political union where the nation states are reduced to the level of federal states. It is all very well for Messers Cameron, Hague and Duncan-Smith to talk about re-negotiations, saying no or not allowing any further steps, but they are trying to negotiate a rebate on the lunch money the playground bully has taken from them, and I am not convinced that what is said at conference is said in Brussels.

[YOUR MPs NAME HERE], the question of the UK’s continued existence as an independent and sovereign state is at stake here, and the citizens of the UK must be allowed to deliver a binding verdict on the subject, it cannot be signed away on the strength of the cabinet at the time knowing ‘what is best’, and that verdict must be allowed to be delivered without fear of retribution or sanction from the EU if Parliament or the electorate return the ‘wrong’ decision in the eyes of the EU.

You will no doubt not be surprised to read that in any such referendum I would vote for our withdrawal, favouring as I do a pure free trade model as espoused by Lord Tebbit. However, those who hold a contrary view to mine simply must be able to express it to get this issue sorted once and for all.

I look forward to your response.

All clear?

If you need to be reminded why we do not need this vampire constantly at our throats, please do go and read this.

Will your letter/email have any effect? I have no idea. I just know that I felt better for sending mine off.

Even if your representative is a dyed-in-the-wool Europhile, you will have noted your feelings on the matter with him/her.

You have nothing to lose.

CR.

Many of these horses SP's were shorter than the Guaranteed prices we took ... and were gambled in.

I split the returns from our short priced shoe-in and placed 2.50 on Suited and Booted last night - LOST

The remaining 4.50 is placed on Green Howard (good chance at the weights) at a respectable 9/2

Last bet of the cycle and we await the returns.

Monday 19 September 2011

Nasri ... will use as a delayed double ..

15/8 .. couldn't resist.

When (not if) Nasri wins we will use the £7 plus returns on another short priced shoe-in to give us the  4/1 plus we expect from our selections.

I expected it to open around the 11/10 mark ....

Sunday 18 September 2011

Coming to the end of the cycle ...

Here are two for today and we were planning on Nasri for the 3.10 at Hamilton but due to it's main rival Sioux Rising not running there will be no price for it (although it should be home and hosed and if you get anywhere near the 3/1 we were expecting for it ... snap it up ... we will !!!

Our regulars had two at Woodbine last night ,.,. both down unfortunately ... so three runners left .. the two over there .. plus we have another running at Leicester. (choice of two)

Have fun !!

Out of of our 15 runners - 1 remains unsettled

18 Sep 11 / 09:37 Single 1   Emirates Melbourne Cup  –  Outright Americain @ 16/1 £2.50 O/0660311/0000145/F

Ok so Americain remains unsettled at 16/1 ...

These are the settled 14 runners ... and we are almost showing a 50% ROI with 5 runners left to select and 1 bet to be settled .. Not sure whether to keep 50% back as a back-up bank or proceed straight to the £5 bets ... decisions decision ..   I am happy with source of information I have but as we know past performance is no guarantee of future earnings ...

Note these bets sizes are only for reference and proof of selections/system ...  My regulars are enjoying

One other selection today for our subscribers !!

Winning show at 5/1 GP ...  returned the 7/2 fav ..  and our pool this time will have a fantastic ROI ...

18 Sep 11 / 15:59 Stake 5:00 Plumpton – Winning Show @ Guaranteed Price (5/1) - £2.50 O/0660311/0000147/F

Get in there ya beauty .... 10/1 winner

Well we are 15 horses in and in the profit .. so we are free-rolling with the last 5 selections  ..

4:40 | 8 Jeu De Vivre (J Fanning, 10-1 ); 6 Getabuzz (D Allan, 4-1 2nd-fav); 5 Jonny Delta (G Bartley, 2-1 fav); 9 ran.

Returns : 27.50 ..

No cash on it myself ... but as predicted .. !!

3:40 | 4 Jeannie Galloway (P Hanagan, Evens fav); 6 Spinatrix (T Eaves, 13-2 ); 6 ran.

gambled all the way in from 3/1 last night to  even fav.

Americain @ 16/1 ... Antepost

Americain @ 16/1 in the Melbourne Cup ...

I would not normally use ante-post  bets .. but I reckon that 16/1 will not be available on the day and this horse should be in single figures .. roll on the 24th Sept ..

Now back to my delicious lunch ....

One that got away ....

The other horse was Jeannie Galloway unlucky in defeat in the Bronze Cup on Friday: well clear of her rivals on the side that she had to run on.  She runs in the 3.40 Hamilton

As I was unable to get the original 11/4 I will not be backing her .. But if you like short priced favourites that will do the business ... this is the one to be on ... currently 7/4 (in from 11/4)

Enjoy !!

Pffff - All down - yes all 5 ...

Sound the alarm bells .. Not even a close second yesterday, though to be fair they were all tough races.

I did look at two others who went in at 12/1 and 5/1 .. but I did not back them in the end ... such is the fickle nature of selections .. bit like shoving with AA in the BB (poker) and then watching in horror as someone calls with 7 2 and hits a full house or quads ,... or even the infamous four cards to make his flush  ...

Anyway .. thanks to KEYS OF CYPRUS ... we can stand the heat :)

So today we have two cracking selections -

4.40 HAMILTON - JEU DE VIVRE  @ 10/1 and the other may run, but no prices showing as yet.

It should really be home and hosed if they decide to run it ... let's hope they do .. but I fear the price might not be right ....

Saturday 17 September 2011

Well both failed along with another two selections ... :(

So we are now 1 from 6 ... but still .. Saturday I have selected 5 juicy prices  15/1,  11/1, 10/1, 9/1 and the shortest price is:-

17 Sep 11 / 07:05 Stake 3:30 Newmarket – French Hollow @ Guaranteed Price (13/2) - £2.50 O/0660311/0000141/F

Thursday 15 September 2011

At the moment only two selected but reasonable prices 9/1 and 15/2

So far only two - have others lined up but no early odds available ....

16 Sep 11 / 04:32 Single 1   2:35 Newbury  –  Win Laughing Jack @ Guaranteed Price (9/1) £2.50 O/0660311/0000136/F
16 Sep 11 / 04:26 Single 1   3:20 Ayr  –  Win Courageous @ Guaranteed Price (15/2) £2.50 O/0660311/0000135/F

Had to .. just had to

Just had to post it !!

15 Sep 11 / 16:55 Bet Winnings 4:50 Ayr – Keys of Cyprus @ Guaranteed Price (14/1) + £37.50 O/0660311/0000133/F

Yes it was a mistake ... 14/1 winner (gambled from 25/1)

Yes it was a huge mistake reducing the stakes as our two selections today .. JADE finished 1/2 a length down in 2nd place @ 10/1 GP .. but Keys of Cyprus stormed home @ 14/1 GP to show a £35 profit returning 37.50 to our staked £2.50 ... GET IN THERE !!!

Back to original ...

In view of the horrific start .. it seemed prudent to reduce the stakes and start over with our original investment.

0/7 was not inspiring .. it maybe a mistake but better safe than sorry.

So £2.50 it is ...

15 Sep 11 / 08:41 Single 1   4:00 Pontefract  –  Win Jade @ Guaranteed Price (10/1) £2.50 O/0660311/0000134/F
15 Sep 11 / 08:40 Single 1   4:50 Ayr  –  Win Keys of Cyprus @ Guaranteed Price (14/1) £2.50 O/0660311/0000133/F

Wednesday 14 September 2011

Well first two are already down .. may have to reconsider stakes ..

Well as the first two are already down ... we will be 7 - 0  if there are no winners and I think it would be best to start over with the remaining £51 (original starting capital) at 2.50 again.

Time will tell ... ahhh weeel .

Today's gluepots ... !!

14 Sep 11 / 08:25 Stake 3:20 Yarmouth – Nouriya @ 10/1 GP (Price taken @ 7/1) - £4.00 O/0660311/0000129/F
14 Sep 11 / 08:25 Stake 3:45 Beverley – Gottany O's @ 6/1 GP (Price taken @ 5/1) - £4.00 O/0660311/0000130/F

To kick us off BET1 - TIP

This 20-1 outsider made its debut here at Kempton in a low class maiden stakes won by SUGARFORMYHONEY which went to run well in a big class 2 handicap.ISLAND PROMISE who finished 2nd that day also went on to win a class 3 race at Kempton earlier this month..

Despite Winter dress finishing a long way off those two it was a strong enough race and besides WINTER DRESS dwelt at the start and would have been a lot closer (ran very green) but should have the hang on things, staying on that day and now steps up to 8f which should suit and could go close here.

EW because of the massive price .. 20/1

12 Sep 2011 - 3:10 Kempton - Win
Best Odds Guaranteed!
Winter Dress @ 20/1  EW @ 1/5 1-3
Stake : £4.00 (£2.00 x 2)

Ok ... round up ...

The kitty shows  £79.13 which is a little over 25% ROI. I will be making the stakes £4 per bet and if the 1st 19 are losers .. well the last one will be £3.13 ... let's hope that's not going to happen :)))

Weather is cool in Mumbai .. bit like a Scottish summer .. overcast and breezy with a hint of rain ... almost feels like the old homeland.

Waiting for the Greeks go bust and take the Euro and the EU overlords with them ...

Happy days ahead ,..

Saturday 10 September 2011

Oh Yes - Masked Marvel does the business at 15/2 ...

Well missed the F1 qualifying .. damned cable did not show the channel ... hope it's sorted by tomorrow.

Won 2 day in a row at the Poker and we are now showing a clear profit with this selection of 20 runners ..

Happy days !!

Four today including 2 replacements for the NR bets !!
